Gecko Broadband

Welcome to Hawke’s Bay’s largest locally owned and operated point-to-point rural wireless network. With over 100 transmitters in the area, there’s a great chance we can service.
$99 per month for Unlimited data.
Notes on installation:
We’ll need to install some equipment onsite to get you connected to the Gecko network. A radio will be installed on the roof (or another structure) and a router* will be cabled inside. These devices, plus the labour and travel to get to you, are covered under a one-off $399 incl GST installation fee. As long as this installation fee is paid, you aren’t in a contract with Gecko and the router is yours to keep.As part of the $399 install fee, Gecko will provide a router to you. This is yours to keep, and comes with a 24 month warranty. The radio equipment installed at site will remain property of Gecko. If you cancel your services we may ask you facilitate a time with us to retrieve this equipment.
In some cases, there may be additional charges if you’d like it installed a certain way. Perhaps you’ve got a shed on the property, or a tiny-home flat, that you’d like to get connected too. Any additional charges will be fully quoted to you prior to install.

We can offer wireless broadband for urban/urban-fringe locations that uses OneNZ’s 4G and 5G network. A 12 month term applies to these connections.
You’ll also need a 4G/5G capable router that is able to connect to the mobile network and authenticate using a sim card. We’d recommend purchasing one from Gecko as we can support it better. Our Huawei 4G/5G routers are $299.

The 111 Contact Code ensures that people who are more likely to need to contact 111, and who have a phone service that doesn’t work in a power failure (with no other means of contacting 111 at their premises), are provided with a means to contact the 111-emergency service. Gecko Broadband is committed to the health and safety of its customers, and has collaborated with the New Zealand Commerce Commission and the New Zealand Telecommunications Forum to establish this code.
At time of signup, we will ask you whether you believe you are a vulnerable customer as per the specific guidelines. It’s your responsibility to advise us of this.
